There's a great Dieter Rams documentary about Braun- the German consumer goods company, well worth watching, which captures a post-war collaborative golden age of making iconic, minimalist appliances, furniture, and electronics (the radio, kitchen appliances, ) in a clean, timeless style.
I watched that through the lens of: what kind of ideas would there have been if there were Edge ML guys in the same room as these physical designers?

I've always admired the hardware/physical design world.
I think it's clearly an influence in teenage engineering, and I like how in the interview below he says he's inspired by 'German/Italian'
